Geography

Morocco is an Arab country which is located in North Africa with borders with Algeria to the east, two Spanish exclaves, Ceuta and Melilla, to the north, southern border with Western Sahara and the Atlantic Ocean to west border. Morocco has a population of 33,757,175 with 98% Muslims, 1.8%, Christian and 0.2% Jewish.

Climate

Morocco's climate is moderate and subtropical and temperature varies considerably by season and location cooled by breezes off the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. In the interior the temperatures are more extreme, winters can be fairly cold and the summers very hot. Marrakech has an average winter temperature of 21°C (70°F) and summer temperature of 100°F (38°C). In the Atlas Mountains temperatures can drop below zero and mountain peaks are snow capped throughout most of the year. The winter in the north of the country is wet and rainy, while in the south, at the edge of the Moroccan Sahara, it is dry and bitterly cold. The best time to visit Morocco is early summer months.

Cities

The capital of the Morocco is Rabat and it is the seat of government and includes a 12th-century tower and minaret. Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco and also a modern city which is a starting point for visitors flying into the country. It has worth to see, both the historical medina and the contemporary mosque (the second largest in the world) and it is the center of commerce and industry and the leading port  ; Tangier is the starting point for most visitors arriving by ferry from Spain. It is an enigmatic charm which has historically attracted numerous artists (Matisse), musicians (Hendrix), politicians (Churchill), writers (Burroughs) and others (Malcolm Forbes). "Arab" Fes is the former capital of Morocco and one of the oldest and largest medieval cities in the world. It is city of the cultural and religious center; and also "Berber" Marrakech is a major tourist center.  Marrakech is a perfect combination of old and new Morocco. Plan to spend at least a few days wandering the huge maze of soaks and ruins in the medina. You shouldn’t miss the great plaza of Djeema El Fna at dusk. Taroudannt is a southern market town. Tetouan  is the gateway to the Rif Mountains and has nice beaches.

Language

Arabic is the official language with several Berber dialects and French is widely spoken as language of business government. Spanish is also used in the northern part of the country. English is rapidly becoming the foreign language of choice among educated people in Morocco.
History
The country were Inhabited from ancient times by Berbers, the region became a Roman province in the 1st century A.D. and It was conquered by Arabs in the 7th century. The country was later united (11th–13th century) under Berber-Muslim dynasties. The French established a protectorate over most of the region in 1912, and in 1956 Morocco achieved independence as a kingdom and now Morocco is under the Constitutional monarchy of King Mohammed VI.

Morocco is a multi-cultural land where Africans, Europeans, Asians, Americans, Christians, Muslims, and Jews have lived together peacefully for centuries.
Since Morocco is a Muslim country majority of people culture is according to Islam but you can enjoy religious freedom and full civil rights in Morocco.

Currency and Exchange

Dirham is official currency in Morocco and you can convert UK, European or American currency or take a credit or cash card as most Banks in the major towns support the MasterCard, Visa and Maestro schemes. You are not allowed to take more than DH 1000 out of the country so you can’t obtain Moroccan currency out of the country.
